WHAT DO I NEED TO OBTAIN A RENTAL INSTRUMENT?

In order to rent an instrument, you will need to fill out a contract in person.  To do this, we need to see a valid driver's license and a major credit card (or proof of some sort of local credit - car loan, home mortgage, etc.).  You will also need to pay for the first three (3) months of the rental.

                                                                                                                            FOR HOW LONG AM I OBLIGATED TO RENT THE INSTRUMENT?

For the first three (3) months only.  After that, we will send a bill to your home address for the next month's rent.  The rental continues on a monthly basis for band instruments, quarterly for string instruments.

                                                                                                                                IS A MAINTENANCE & REPLACEMENT FEE INCLUDED WITH THE RENTAL?

Yes.  The maintenance and replacement fee is $5.00 of the rental fee for band instruments, $15.00 for string instruments.  This covers the instrument for loss, theft, and any repairs (but does not include wearables such as reeds, strings, oil, rosin, etc.).

                                                                                                                            WHAT IF THE INSTRUMENT NEEDS REPAIR?

If the instrument does require repair, bring the instrument to A-major Music.  A loaner instrument can be provided free of charge if needed and available.

                                                                                                                             IS ANY OF THE RENTAL PRICE GOING TOWARDS THE PURCHASE OF THE INSTRUMENT?

Yes.  For Band Instruments, one hundred percent (100%) of the rental price - that's the price of the instrument minus the $5 maintenance and replacement fee - is accumulated as credit towards an instrument for the first year (12 months) of the rental.  After the initial year of the rental, fifty percent (50%) of the rental price is also accumulated as credit towards purchase for an additional two (2) years maximum.

                                                                                                                           For String Instruments, one hundred percent (100%) of the rental price - that's the rental minus the quarterly $15.00 maintenance and replacement fee - is accumulated as credit for 2 years (24 months) of the rental.

                                                                                                                              DO I HAVE TO BUY THE INSTRUMENT I AM RENTING?

No.  The rental credit you build up goes toward any instrument in that rental category - new or used - that we have available.  However, you may certainly purchase the instrument you rent if you wish. 

                                                                                                                          WHAT IF I WANT TO STOP RENTING THE INSTRUMENT?

Should you decide you no longer wish to rent the instrument, simply return it to A-major Music.  This will effectively end the rental agreement.  There are NO refunds on rentals.

                                                                                                                        WHAT HAPPENS TO MY RENTAL CREDIT WHEN I RETURN MY INSTRUMENT?

Returning the rental instrument terminates the contract and nullifies all of the credit you have accumulated up to that point.
